Dowse Art Museum, 45 Laings Rd, Lower Hutt: In this event, top applicants in the Wellington, Taranaki and Whanganui-Manawatu area will pitch their ideas to a panel of regional judges to determine the Finalist in Region. This year’s problem statement focuses on finding better ways to navigate Antarctica as an analog to space missions in the future.
Each region will select a finalist who will go on to compete for the $40k grand prize at the Tech Week "Extreme Environments: From Antarctica to Space" event in Christchurch on 24 May.
The regional winner will receive at least six months of in-kind incubation support and mentorship to develop their ideas and solutions, in addition to the opportunity to compete for the grand prize.
The 2018 New Zealand Space Challenge (www.NZSpaceChallenge.com) is made possible in partnership with SpaceBase (www.SpaceBase.co) and ChristchurchNZ (www.ChristchurchNZ.com), in collaboration with numerous national and regional partners.
